Ricky Martin talks about ‘Palm Royale’ and his new role

The first season is on Apple TV+

He’s known for hits like “Livin’ La Vida Loca” and “She Bangs”, but Ricky Martin has stepped away from the microphone for a minute to star in a new show. He appeared on “Live in the D” to talk about the Apple TV+ series “Palm Royale”.

“Palm Royale” is about Maxine Dellacorte-Simmons played by Kristen Wiig striving to take a seat at the table of an exclusive club. The show takes place in Palm Beach, Florida in 1969 and Martin plays the character Robert Diaz.

Martin enjoyed the role as he served as a protector to Carol Burnett’s character Norma Dellacorte.

“For me to walk on set every night was like a very wonderful and juicy psychoanalysis because in order for you to be effective in acting you just have to be vulnerable and raw and honest in order for the audience to enjoy your craft,” said Martin.

“Palm Royale” recently completed its first season, but it’s unclear if the show will have a second season.
