You’ll be starstruck in Metro Detroit this weekend

Motor City Comic Con is hosting familiar faces from movies and TV today, tomorrow, and Sunday

From “The Mandalorian” on Disney+ to “Raiders Of The Lost Ark”, stars from movies and TV shows are in Novi at Suburban Collection Showplace this weekend for Motor City Comic Con. The convention runs today through Sunday and provides you the opportunity to meet the actors who help bring the projects to life. “Live In The D’s” April Morton spoke with two of the celebrity guests ahead of the opening this weekend.

First, she had a chance to talk with Tom Kenny, the voice of SpongeBob Square Pants. Kenny talked about all the different voices he’s done over the years, and what it’s like to bring SpongeBob to life. “It’s a blast, still doing it after 25 years,” said Kenny. “The Sponge-train keeps on Rolling.”

Next, Morton sat down with actor John Ratzenberger who is most famously known for playing Cliff Clavin on the television show “Cheers”. Ratzenberger talked about how he got on the show by suggesting the writers should have a “know it all” character at the bar. He also spoke about the voice acting he has done in the Pixar movies including “Toy Story” and “A Bug’s Life”.
