DETROIT – Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest in the murder of a Detroit grandfather.

Timothy Hobson was a father and grandfather who was changing his life for the better. Hobson loved his family and though he had made some mistakes in the past, he was always supportive of the people he cared about. He taught his kids and grandkids how to cook, fish, and fix things around the house.

Hobson lived in the 12000 block of Chapel Street in Detroit with his friend Larry Rencher, who he was taking care of at the time. Both of them were found dead in the home on June 4, 2023.

Hobson had been beaten, stabbed, strangled, and shot four times. Rencher was found on a couch in another room, he had been shot and killed.
