PRESIDENT OBAMA TOLD REPORTERS HE'S DEBATE-READY AFTER THREE DAYS OF PREPARING IN VIRGINIA MITT ROMNEY DIDN'T SAY MUCH AS HE LEFT MASSACHUSETTS. HE'S HAD TWO WEEKS OF LETTING HIS FIRST DEBATE PERFORMANCE SPEAK FOR ITSELF.
POLLS SHOW ROMNEY GAINING SUPPORT AND MOMENTUM. THE PRESIDENT'S PRESS SECRETARY PROMISES VOTERS WILL SEE SOMETHING DIFFERENT TONIGHT.
He has watched the last debate and, you know, he is his own harshest critic. He is coming into this debate energized.

BUT TONIGHT--ALL EYES WILL BE HERE-- WAITING TO SEE WHICH OF TWO CANDIDATES MAKES THE BEST CASE FOR GETTING THE JOB.
IN WASHINGTON, I'M EMILY SCHMIDT.
