The Arc of Oakland County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency advocating for the rights and full participation of all children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We strive to improve systems of supports and services; connect families; inspire our community and influence public policy.

Key advocacy services include—

  • Governmental and Financial Benefits (Social Security Disability Insurance [SSDI], Supplemental Security Income [SSI], Medicaid and Medicare)
  • Legal Services (Power of Attorney, Guardianship and Alternatives, Estate Planning, Wills and Trusts)
  • Special Education Law (Legal Advocacy at Individual Education Plan [IEP] meetings and help resolving other issues pertaining to the school system)
  • Information & Referrals (Helping people navigate the mental health system)
