Ann Arbor named top travel destination in the Midwest

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Tree Town is one of the nicest Midwestern destinations in 2024, according to a new list from Forbes Advisor.

Staff at the financial and investing platform assembled a list of 50 of the “Best Places To Travel With Credit Card Rewards In 2024.″

Ann Arbor’s unique makeup of college charm and artsy community, the Ann Arbor Art Fair and the city’s relationship with the University of Michigan led it to be added to a list subsection called “Nicest Places To Visit in the Midwest.”

“Beyond its cultural and educational landmarks, Ann Arbor is also a haven for foodies. The city’s culinary scene is a delightful surprise, featuring an array of dining options that range from gourmet restaurants to quirky food trucks. You won’t want to miss Zingerman’s Deli, famous for its Reuben Sandwich, or Frita Batidos’ Cuban-inspired street food. Coffee shops and breweries dot the city, offering cozy nooks for students, professionals and visitors to unwind and socialize.”

City parks and natural spaces, the Michigan Stadium, University of Michigan Nichols Arboretum and the Huron River are all mentioned by name as contributing to the city’s fun personality.

Other midwestern cities on the list include Cleveland, Ohio; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Yellow Springs, Ohio.
