Kmart, Sears open on Thanksgiving

Retailers announce plans for holiday shopping

DETROIT – Attention Holiday Shoppers! Sears and Kmart will both be open on Thanksgiving this year. The hours of operation will vary slightly, but there will be plenty of time for you to start, or finish, working on that list of holiday gifts.

While Kmart stores have been open for 21 years, this will be just the second time Sears will be open on the actual holiday. It's probably a bummer for employees, but Sears tries to take some of the sting out of working the holiday.
