situation.

Bloomberg reports one supplier's ability to produce certain drivetrain parts for the 5.3 liter V-8 engine is limiting how many trucks

dealers can order. The supplier is not being identified.

The Silverado and Sierra are two of the centerpieces of GM's 18 new or redesigned models for the U.S. market. Bloomberg reports

full-size pickups generate $8,000 to $10,000 in gross profit each. One analyst told Bloomberg its critical for GM to resolve the shortage

to maximize the profits the truck can generate.

One source told Bloomberg the issue could be resolved soon, while another said it could take longer than a couple of months.
