Verizon cell phone service restored across metro Detroit

DETROIT – Cell phone service to Verizon wireless customers was restored around 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Customers began contacting Local 4 around 1 p.m. to report their cell phone service was not working.

Local 4 spoke with a Verizon spokesperson who said the company was making cell phone service restoration a top priority.

There is no word yet on what caused the disruption in service.
