Michigan's Manningham Out After Surgery

POSTED: 1:40 am EDT October 11, 2006

(Sports Network) - Michigan sophomore wide receiver Mario Manningham reportedly underwent surgery on Tuesday, which could sideline him for several weeks.

The Detroit News reported Manningham's surgery was to repair a partially torn meniscus, as well as a possible partial tear of a medial collateral ligament in a knee.

He is certain to miss this Saturday's road game as the No. 4 Wolverines visit Penn State.

Manningham left Saturday's victory over Michigan State in the third quarter. The wide out leads the Wolverines (6-0) and the Big Ten in receiving yards with 527 as well as the nation with nine touchdown grabs.
