Thousands gathered in Detroit on Saturday for the 21st Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Registration kicked off at 7 a.m. at Comerica Park with an opening ceremony at 8 a.m. that honored breast cancer survivors and lost loved ones.
