DETROIT -- Ann Arbor can put another notch in its belt. For the third time this year, it has been voted, by a notable publication, one of the best cities in the United States in which to live.
BusinessWeek.com said Ann Arbor is the most kid-and cost-friendly city in Michigan. The Web site also establishes it as one of the best college towns in the United States for its acres of parks, galleries, museums, restaurants, boutiques and seven gold courses.

Ann Arbor landed in the top tier, with a median household average of $87,061.
The list was further narrowed down by using the following criteria: school performance; number of schools; household expenditures; crime rates; air quality; job growth; family income; museums; parks; theaters; other amenities and diversity.
