Flo Boutique, (located just next to another Hidden Gem, the Avalon Bakery), features designs from all around the world at nearly half the price.

"One brand of jeans that we carry are PZI jeans. They are very generous in the hips but tapered at the waist," manager Mario Small said. We have women kicking down the door for them."

The smell of incense fills the air as one enters inside the small but inviting shop. Flo Boutique features an eclectic collection of funky clothing, accessories and vintage, many designed by local artists.

"We are one of the only stores in Detroit which carries Diamond Dancer's line, a local designer," Small said. "She is known for her etched copper earrings which moves rather quickly through the store."

The boutique also features many other accessories including scarves, hats and purses. This urban chic diamond in the rough has something for everyone.

In addition, many customers enjoy combining a little shopping with their morning coffee from Avalon Bakery and have gotten to know both owners of the two businesses quite well.

"Avalon has a lot of daily customers who get their coffee and bread and then come in here and do a little shopping and in a way it becomes a daily thing for many of our customers," Mario said.

Flo Boutique welcomes new customers to their store including those visiting the local Detroit area.
