Here is your chance to help put a family into their very own home.
Now through Sept. 5, applications will be taken online at iWish4Detroit.com for a family to be part of Project: Welcome Home.
A deserving family will be picked Sept. 15. Then, Compuware will be teaming up with Habitat for Humanity to build the home, furnish it and fill it with goodies - all in time for the holidays.
"We look at families who have a need. So, many of our families live in sub-standard conditions, overcrowded conditions and pay way too much in terms of their housing," said Habitat's Detroit Executive Director, Vincent Tilford.
Compuware's iWish4Detroit float made its debut last year along Woodward Avenue in America's Thanksgiving Parade - asking the community to send in their wishes. Compuware said the majority of the wishes they received were for wishes for a place to call home. So, they're tackling the need with the project.
"Imagine waking up Christmas morning with nothing to worry about, food in the fridge, house is yours, mortgage paid for two years, fully furnished and your family is safe," said Compuware's Tanya Heidelberg-Yopp. "That's what we want to make happen."
