SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -

A dog was rescued Wednesday morning out of a dumpster at the Hidden Valley Apartment complex on 8 Mile Road in Southfield.

Lisa McVeigh, the general manager at Almost Home Animal Rescue League, received a from a man that said he "found" a dog in a dumpster. He described the bag the dog was in and kept calling to make sure the dog had been rescued.

McVeigh took the dog to Jeffrey Animal Hospital where he was fed and rehydrated. She picked him up this afternoon and will now try to find him a home.
