DETROIT -

A five-day arts festival is returning next month to Detroit's Midtown area.

The Kresge Foundation this week announced the programming for its free "Art X Detroit" event that runs from April 10-14. It's to include exhibitions, presentations, readings, discussions, concerts and dance performances at a dozen venues.

The event also plans to showcase works and performances by two Kresge Eminent artists: playwright Bill Harris and poet Naomi Long Madgett.

The Kresge Foundation in 2008 established a program that has provided $2 million to more than 70 Detroit-area artists, writers and performers.

Other Art X Detroit partners are the College for Creative Studies, the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit and ArtServe Michigan.
