The parents of a very sick little girl in the Minneapolis area are asking people to send their love in a very small and simple way.

June Rudd is a 3-year-old who is battling a rare brain and developmental disorder known as Aicardi Syndrome.

The family says they've been told by doctors that June will never walk, talk or be able to do anything on her own.

But her mother, Kati, says she and her husband heard June say 'I love you' once to them.

The family is asking anyone to send small four by four-inch paper hearts they can use to adorn her hospital room. They say love is the best medicine.

The hearts can be decorated in any fashion.

The family's goal is to hang 20,000 hearts by June 1.
