It looks like love *and* marriage are on the minds of a lot of couples as we head toward Valentine's Day.
A new survey by American Express found 4 million people expect to get engaged on the holiday. Another 14 million might take that step sometime this year.

The survey also looked at how much people think is the right amount to spend for an engagement. Nearly half said between $1,000 and $5,000 was appropriate..
About 20 percent said less than $500 would be fine.
