The spotlight Friday night will be on 15 Midtown galleries, and 19 galleries located in the Livernois, Woodbridge/Grand River, Southwest/Corktown and North End Arts Districts will be featured Saturday.

"Anyone in the world that is interested in art is interested in Detroit right now." said Mark Schwartz, chairman of Art Detroit Now. "Not a week goes by that an artist, collector, scholar, curator or writer of note doesn't visit our city. The DIA, MOCAD and Heidelberg are the starting point of every art conversation, but the talk quickly turns to Detroit art. Bolstered by support from the Kresge and Knight Foundation, we have a vibrant arts community. Amazing art is being created here and our galleries are doing a great job of showcasing it."

New galleries this year include Live Coal, Corktown Studios, What Pipeline, Motor City Art Market, The Butcher's Daughter, LT Graphics Artist Studio & Showroom, Inner State Gallery, Michigan Artisans and Trinosophes.
