"Camp" movie helps local kids

Movie playing at the Livonia 20 Theater, portion of proceeds benefit Novi camp

The movie "Camp" is out in select theaters and will help benefit a Novi children's camp.

"Camp" shares the story of how the camp experience touches the lives of campers and counselors at Royal Family KIDS Camps. The movie centers around a 10-year-old named Eli who was abused by his father and placed in foster care. The story follows the challenges Eli has with his camp counselor and how they form a bond.

The movie is playing for one week at the Livonia 20 Theater and 40 percent of the producer's proceeds will benefit the Royal Family KIDS Camp in Novi. It's part of a national camp that has a goal of changing the lives of children who have been abused.
