A traveling exhibition by Art Road that illustrates the impact of plastic pollution in the Great Lakes will be unveiled during the event.

GreenFest is an initiative of the Detroit Zoological Society’s Greenprint. Greenprint is a plan to improve green practices and facilities at both the Detroit Zoo and the Belle Isle Nature Center, incorporate sustainability in policies and programs and improve green literacy and action in the community.

A recent Greenprint effort includes discontinuing the sale of bottled water at the zoo.

GreenFest is free with zoo admission. Tickets for those who bring a cellphone to recycle will be $9.

Zoo admission is $14 for adults 15 and older; $10 for children 2 to 14, seniors 62 and older and active military members; and free for children younger than 2. Parking is $7 per car.
