DETROIT – The US Coast Guard Detroit has teamed up with Lions player Israel Idonije to promote water safety.
With recent drownings across the Great Lakes, and through a partnership with the Israel Idonije Foundation, a video was created to help pass along valuable safety information to swimmers, boaters and beachgoers across Michigan.

In the video, Idonije encourages people to wear a life jacket, never swim alone, and be aware of shallow water and rip currents.
