Covenant House: Helping save youths in Michigan

DETROIT – Armed with nothing but blankets and a fervent desire to save young lives, Stephanie Taylor and Danny Pagan search the streets for those in need.

Taylor and Pagan are outreach workers for Covenant House, a national non-profit that serves 13 to 22 years olds.

After 15 years of patrolling the streets for lost souls, Taylor and Pagan said they have developed a sixth sense for seeking out the homeless, runaway and at-risk youths.

Covenant House provides shelter, education and vocational programs.

For the youths that aren't quite ready to accept the help, Taylor and Pagan leave blankets as a peace offering and lots of cards with Covenant House's contact information.

There are plenty of ways to help Covenant House's cause, volunteer time and help out financially.
