DETROIT -

DLECTRICITY is set to light up Midtown this Sept. 26 and 27 from 7 pm until midnight.

DTE Energy will be the presenting sponsor for the free event that will feature 35 world-renowned and up-and-coming artists.

(MDI). "DTE Energy along with the support from all of our sponsors gives us the opportunity to create a world-class event, attracting high caliber artists and showcasing Midtown Detroit as an international art destination."

The artwork will light the Midtown Woodward corridor between the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in the form of light, video, performance and engineering.

"The quality of the artists for this year's DLECTRICITY is extraordinary," said Michelle Perron, head of the DLECTRICITY Curatorial Committee. "The city's cultural center will literally light up with the creative energy that continues to put Detroit on the map with international artists and visitors."

DLECTRICITY is modeled after other art festivals that light the streets of Paris, Rome, Toronto, Minneapolis, and New York.

Artists from Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden will be showcased. As well as artists from New York, Boston, and Detroit.
