FRANKENMUTH, Mich. - History buffs will be in for a treat at an event that will celebrate both the 125th anniversary of the Bavarian Inn Restaurant and the 50th anniversary of the Frankenmuth Historical Association.
The Association's gala Annual Meeting will take place on March 7 at 5:30 pm at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant.
The event is to celebrate 125 consecutive years of dining and hospitality at their location, and is this year's event sponsor and host.
Following a dinner of Bavarian Inn all-time favorites, the association says guests will enjoy a special program that will take them back to 1888, and the establishment of Fischer's Union House.
Afterwards, guests will travel to the 1950s and the property's purchase by the Zehnder family, learning about the decades of growth in the late 20th century.
The association says the program will culminate in recognition of Bavarian Inn's status today as one of America's most familiar and beloved family restaurants.
