Donate Life Coalition of Michigan will host a heart transplant Valentine's Day event

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Donate Life Coalition of Michigan and its members are partnering with Art Moran Buick GMC to create a fun yet heartfelt event showcasing the success of organ transplantation.

The Guinness World Records attempt will try to have the largest gathering of heart-transplant recipients on Valentine's Day. Lisa Langley, chair of the Donate Life Coalition of Michigan and executive director of the Michigan Eye-Bank, says it is truly amazing to think of all of those "second chance hearts" beating at once because of the generosity of so many donors. "This event allows us to encourage all to join the Michigan Organ Registry and receive a red heart donor symbol on their driver's license or state ID," Langley says.

Light refreshments, music and games will be provided at the free event. For more information, contact Peggy Burkhard at 248-770-5172 or Sherry Johnson at 248-229-8544.
