Huron Valley Schools social workers to host Community Resource Night

Evening open to HVS families experiencing financial hardship

HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Huron Valley Schools social workers will host a Community Resource Night at Milford High School on Thursday, open to all Huron Valley Schools families who are experiencing financial hardship.

The district says families will enjoy a free spaghetti dinner, along with free child care for ages 2 and older. Community agencies will be present throughout the evening to share information about services to register families for assistance.

The opportunity to sign up to receive winter coats, tutoring, holiday help, cell phones, assistance with utility payments and many additional services will be available as well, according to the district.

Donations are being accepted to help support Thursday's event. The district says gift cards to local gas stations, restaurants, and grocery stores are needed.

In addition, donations of paper products, two pocket folders, cases of water, or monetary donations are also being accepted.

If you are interested in donating to this evening, please contact Jennifer Hollander.
