The event will also be hosted by Local 4 traffic reporter Ashlee Baracy.

Operation: Kid Equip is a local non-profit that provides free school supplies, books, hygiene, clothing and food items for metro Detroit's kids in need.

Organizers said the non-profit recently suffered a loss of tens of thousands of dollars in donated supplies when their Clinton Township offices flooded.

The goal of the event is to collect a $5 suggested donation at the door from each guest to help OKE rebuild and replace those lost supplies, organizers said.

The event, which is for ages 21 and over, will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday at Saint Andrew's Hall, located at 431 East Congress Street in Detroit. To RSVP and learn more, click here.
