Meridian Winter Blast underway at Campus Martius

DETROIT – The Meridian Winter Blast is underway in downtown Detroit.

Experience winter at Campus Martius with unique activities like dog sledding, ice skating, snow shoeing, marshmallow roasting and the giant snow slide.

Entertainment and food is a staple at any event and the winter blast has plenty of both. More than 50 entertainment acts performing and warm tents are set up with vendors from some of the city’s best restaurants.

For every ride down the snow slide, $1 will be donated to the Flint Child Health and Development Fund of the Community Foundation of Great Flint as part of the Sing, Skate & Slide for Flint Program. The Meridian Health Plan will match all dollars raised, up to $40,000.

The event continues Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Admission to the Winter Blast is 3 canned goods, a children’s book or $2.
