Metro Detroit designer launches charity calendar

Award-winning fashion designer Cheryl Zemke created '2016 Calendar Girls'

WYANDOTTE, Mich. – Metro Detroit fashion designer Cheryl Zemke has launched a charity calendar to help in the fight against child abuse.

Zemke created 2016 Calendar Girls to benefit The Kids-TALK Children's Advocacy Center, an organization that serves local child abuse victims. The calendar includes models wearing Zemke's designs from her line C. Creations, which features one-of-a-kind garments.

The 2016 Calendar Girls fundraising calendar highlights landmarks and attractions throughout the Detroit and metro Detroit area. Photos in the calendar were taken at spots like Belle Isle, Detroit Institutes of Arts, Erwin Orchards, The Whitney and many others.

A special Calendar Release Party is set for Sunday, October 25 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Tongue's Coffee, located at 2958 Biddle Ave. in Wyandotte, Michigan. Calendars will be available at a discounted price at the release party.

Cheryl Zemke is also planning her 5th Annual C. Creations Fall Fashion Show and charity raffle. It will take place at 11 a.m. on November 14 at the Downriver Council for the Arts, located at 81 Chestnut in Wyandotte. The theme of the fashion show is "Uncaged".
