Michigan Bow Hunters Association wants to know who shot Baby the cat with an arrow in Blackman Township

Association sets up reward fund for cat

DETROIT – After seeing Local 4's coverage of the cat named Baby, who survived an arrow shot directly to the head, one unlikely group has stepped-up to help find the person responsible.

Dean Hall, president of the The Michigan Bow Hunters Association, said his organization wants to help find who hurt the 6-year-old male cat, found by his owner with an arrow lodged in its head on Sunday outside of Jackson.

The cat was found laying outside the home alive and taken to a veterinary hospital where it was expected to make a recovery.

Hall said the organization has set-up a reward fund for information resulting in the arrest and prosecution of the person or persons who shot the cat.

The organization wants to promote legal, safe and ethical bow hunting in the state of Michigan and what happened to Baby is a cruel and illegal act, Hall said.

The Michigan Bow Hunters Association will donate $500 towards the fund to get things started.

Hall said that if no one is arrested and prosecuted for Baby's injuries, after one year's time, donations will go towards another good cause, feeding the hungry through the non-profit organization Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger
