Muggy morning, storms on the way

Storms expected by late morning, close to 90 degrees

DETROIT –  It's warm and muggy, but quiet this morning as we wait a strong line of storms move through the Chicagoland area.

That line and those storms will be rumbling through here this morning.

There is a history of strong to severe weather with this system so be prepared for a quick round of thunderstorms mid morning today. All of SE Michigan is under a threat for severe weather today.

But, the bigger concern is this evening. That's when a cold front will be moving closer and the dynamics for strong storms will be present across our area after another hot and steamy day. Highs today in the upper 80s, close to 90° will feel more like mid 90s at times with the humidity on high.   We'll see a few scattered storms again on Tuesday, although most of the day will be dry. Humidity levels will be high early in the day becoming a bit more dry and comfortable by the late afternoon or evening. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 80s.

   Cooler weather works in here Wednesday along with another chance for rain and thundershowers. Highs will top off near 80 degrees and then 70s Thursday through Saturday.
