BROOKLYN, MI -

Michigan International Speedway has to hold a special place in Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s heart. His last two wins in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series have come at MIS. In 2008, he won the LifeLock 400 and last year he won the Quicken Loans 400, breaking a 143 race winless drought. Junior is currently 4th in the Sprint Cup Series standings behind Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards, and Clint Bowyer. A win at MIS would certainly keep him in the thick of it.

This weekend, they’ll all be at Michigan International Speedway hoping for a trip down victory lane.

The Quicken Loans 400 starts at 1pm this Sunday, June 16. But that’s not the only thing going on at MIS this weekend. The festivities kick off Friday with the ARCA Racing Series Patriot Pumps 200 at 5pm and all the NASCAR stars doing their practice laps. Also, kids under 12 get in free Friday at MIS!

On Saturday, take in the Alliance Truck Parts 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race starting at 2pm.

MDOT is suspending construction around MIS for the weekend to accommodate those visiting, including M-50 between Brooklyn and Napoleon. There's a complete list over at MDOT's website.

The Quicken Loans 400 NASCAR Weekend is an official event of Autopalooza 2013, which is a summer-long celebration of the areas automotive background. For a list of Autopalooza events, click here.

If you’re going to be at any of the events at MIS this weekend, how about tweeting or Instagramming us your pictures? Use the hashtag #CruiseTheD & follow us on Twitter @CruiseTheD for all your latest car cruising and classic car news.

There’s also a contest being held on ClickOnDetroit for a chance to win some free tickets for the weekend. It would make a great Father’s Day gift. To enter, head over to the Contests section.
