Music is the perfect medicine. After a rough week for the city of Detroit, music seems like the perfect pick-me-up.
The Oakaloosa music festival will kick-off Saturday afternoon at Historic Ft. Wayne in Detroit. Organized by Detroit Sports Zone, Inc., a non-profit group, Oakaloosa will feature a large group of the areas top acts, along with a handful of acts known worldwide, including Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Jessica Hernandez and the Deltas, Girl Talk and Detroit's own Royce Da 5'9.
The all day festival will also work to raise money to put towards the restoration of Historic Fort Wayne.
Some of the local acts include Trick Trick, Kaleido, Ro Spit, Drew 32, and Rapt.fm (Stevie Soul, Erik Torenberg and Phil Fresh). The festival runs from 11:30 a.m. till about midnight. Tickets cost $45 online, and are $55 at the door.
