DETROIT - One year ago, a group of local artists and others transformed a piece of vacant Detroit land into a European-style beer garden.
It was called the Tashmoo Biergarten, and it's now back for a second year.
The pop-up beer garden kicks off its fall season on Saturday in Detroit's West Village. It will be open each Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 28.
The Tashmoo Biergarten will feature a rotating selection of beer by Michigan brewers, local food vendors and board games.
Organizers say "tashmoo" is a Native American word understood to mean "meeting place."
