The Z Garage Makes Statement In Detroit

Bedrock's New Z parking garage has big impact on contemporary art world

So far as the largest art installation in the city of Detroit, "The Z" a retail and parking development owned by Bedrock Real Estate Services is home to 22 artists work from around the world. This 10 story structure which opened around Christmas of 2013 is located at the corner of Broadway and East Grand River to the corner of Library and Gratiot. The art project was a collaboration between Bedrock and Library Street Collective Gallery both based in downtown Detroit.

I was asked to document what some are calling the biggest contemporary art project of 2013, I shot over a 3 month time period with some of the greatest artists of our time and it was one of the best experiences I was fortunate to have. Artist's in the Z project come from United States, Russia, Greece, England, Spain, Australia and include Revok, Tristan Eaton, DabsMyla, Augustine Kofie, B, Cyrcle, GAIA, Hense, HowNosm, Interesni & Kazki, Logan Hicks, Lucy McLauchlan, Matt W. Moore, Maya Hayuk, Mr. Jago, Push, Remi Rough, Pose, Reyes, Sam Friedman, Saner, Smash 137 and Wais.
