'Unmask Detroit' to bring together young Detroit professionals

DETROIT – Despite the opinions of naysayers, the city of Detroit has proven its dedication towards the revitalization and upkeep of the city.

Facing an uphill battle, Detroit has made a major shift of focus and is depending on the millennial community to fuel its resurgence. Building upon this momentum, local grassroots organization, Acquired Taste, is aiming to create a holistic sense of community amid the millennial population, through a series of social events, forums and mixers, the first of which being, Unmask Detroit 2015.

On Saturday, January 17th, 2015, Acquired Taste will host Unmask Detroit 2015. Taking place at the Detroit Institute of Music Education, 1265 Griswold Street, Detroit, MI, this semi-formal, masquerade-themed soiree will bring together Detroit's young professionals, entrepreneurs, artisans, and creators for a night of fun, entertainment, and social advocacy, while celebrating the resurgence of Detroit.

Unmask Detroit 2015 is not only a celebration of Detroit, but a celebration of the millennial. The event combines sophistication, charity and a night of revelry. Featuring Celebrity DJ Taja, attendees will dance the night away while networking with likeminded peers and promoting social justices. Whether you're new to Detroit looking to connect with others, or a lifelong Detroiter looking for something new, if you're between the ages of 21-35, this is an event you'll want to attend.

Unmask Detroit 2015 will benefit S.O.A.P (Saving our adolescents from prostitution), a local nonprofit dedicated towards abolishing and preventing sex trafficking in the community.

Tickets are now available for purchase for $35 at www.unmaskdetroit.com.

This event is being presented by Acquired Taste Detroit, in partnership with several reputable community organizations including Venture for America, S.O.A.P (Saving our adolescents from prostitution), the Detroit Institute of Music Education and Uber.
