Women of Vision event features fashion show

National Council of Jewish Women, Greater Detroit Section will host its annual Women of Vision benefit luncheon on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Congregation Shaarey Zedek in Southfield. This year Women of Vision will feature "A Visionary Fashion Show" starring Eileen Fisher, Max Mara, Milieu, Tender and Tapper's Diamonds & Fine Jewelry.

Fashion has also played a major role over the years for National Council of Jewish Women, Greater Detroit Section. In 1934, NCJW/Greater Detroit opened its first resale shop. For over 80 years, proceeds from the stores have enabled us to provide our community service projects, programs and advocacy on behalf of women, children and families.

As part of our Israel granting program, NCJW provides funding for a program called "Turning the Tables." This program provides economic and professional empowerment to women who exit the destructive cycle of sex-trafficking and prostitution. The mission is to provide vocational training, to develop self-worth and to promote an alternative livelihood through a variety of courses in different specialties of fashion.

The event will feature 30 different boutique vendors available to shop from 9:30 am-3:30 pm. Registration starts at 9:30 am with lunch, awards and the Fashion Show will begin at noon.Tickets can be purchased online at www.ncjwgds.org or by calling NCJW/Greater Detroit office at 248-355-3300.
