Test Household Items For Dangerous Lead

POSTED: Friday, December 14, 2007

Millions of toys have been recalled in the past year because they contain dangerous lead paint.

Through testing, Ruth to the Rescue has also found lead in dishes and other household items.

The only way to be sure if your toys, dishes and other items contain lead is to have them tested. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says do-it-yourself lead test swabs can be inaccurate.

If you'd like to have your items properly tested for dangerous lead, contact Environmental Testing and Consulting of Romulus. ETC has lead-testing experts and XRF technology that accurately tests for lead on many surfaces without destroying the item.
