WARREN, Mich. -

General Motors see more electric vehicles in its futures and cars that can go a lot farther on a charge of their batteries.

GM unveiled Monday the expansion of its Battery Systems lab in Warren, which has now more than doubled its size.

The automaker also has set a goal of developing batteries for a car that will go 200 miles on a charge. It plans to sell that car for about $30,000.

The expanded battery lab will help GM test and develop batteries and systems twice as fast as it has in the past.
