Buyer beware! BBB warning about sports apparel website

Help Me Hank consumer alert about customer complaints

In the middle of college bowl season and heading into the NFL playoffs, be careful where you buy your athletic apparel. The Detroit area Better Business Bureau is sending out a warning about a website called Fan Authentics. The BBB says it's an internet company that appears to operate from an address in Southfield, Michigan.

However, the company has failed to respond to numerous customer complaints. The Better Business Bureau says it's received more than 230 complaints, from 43 states since mid-September. Customers are complaining about paying for sport-related merchandise, but receiving nothing.

Consumers tell BBB that they placed their orders and Fan Authentics charged their credit cards, provided them order tracking information but they never received the merchandise. In several complaints and customer reviews, consumers say they repeatedly tried to contact the company without success.

BBB has attempted via email, US postal mail and by phone to reach the company but we too have not been able to speak to anyone.  All US postal mail has been returned for an incomplete address.

Better Business Bureau urges consumers to check companies’ Business Reviews here before making a purchase, and using a credit card when shopping online.  In the event of a dispute, you may consider filing a written complaint or use the online complaint handling system.
