Help 4 Oklahoma: Local 4 teams up with Forgotten Harvest

DETROIT – As tornado survivors pick up the pieces in Oklahoma, Metro-Detroiters are wondering how they can help. Ruth to the Rescue is teaming up with Forgotten Harvest to get those survivors supplies they need during this disaster.

If you can help: These are the types of supplies you can donate.

  • Non-Perishable Food Items
  • Personal Hygiene Items Needed
  • Hydrogen Peroxide , Cotton Balls, Eye Drops, Benadryl, Gauze, Soap Toothpaste Toiletries, Antacids, Disposable bandages, Baby Aspirin

You can drop them off at Art Van stores around Metro-Detroit, starting at 4 p.m. on May 21st. You can start dropping off donations after 12:30 p.m. at the store on 14 Mile, between Mound and Van Dyke.

Cash Donations can be made by calling the Forgotten harvest toll free line 24 hours per day-888-332-7140.  Be certain to tell them you are donating to the Detroit Rescue fund for Oklahoma sponsored by Forgotten Harvest

We've worked with Forgotten Harvest to help other disaster victims. The organization raised $1.1 million in cash and donated items such as medical supplies, new shoes, new clothing and bottled water for earthquake victims in Haiti.

And for victims of Hurricane Sandy  $340,000 worth of food was donated by Forgotten Harvest Food donors.
