DETROIT – BMW and Ford Motor Company have announced recalls on several vehicles.
BMW said the 2016 740Li, 750Li and 750Lxi vehicles manufactured between July 1 and Dec. 11 have air bag control modules that may randomly reset due to an electrical short circuit. It's a results of residual metallic particles from the manufacturing process, according to BMW of North America, LLC.

The company said the airbags may not deploy in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
BMW officials said owners will be notified and dealers will replace the air bag control module free of charge.

Ford announced recalls on two of their vehicles, including:
- 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC vehicles manufactured between Nov. 25, 2013, and Jan. 25, 2016
- 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles manufactured between Oct. 20, 2014 and Jan. 28, 2016
Ford officials said the two vehicles have engine block heaters which may overheat when plugged in, resulting in the risk of a fire.
Ford said owners will be notified and dealers will replace the engine block heater for free. In addition, the electrical cord in the vehicles will be inspected.
The company said owners are not use the engine block heater until the vehicle has been remedied.
