DETROIT - Nan Far Woodworking is recalling about 16,700 Rockland Furniture drop-side cribs due to entrapment, suffocation and fall hazards.
The cribs were sold exclusively at JCPenny.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the cribs can malfunction, detach or otherwise fail which causes the drop side to fall out of position. This creates a space for the child can roll into and possibly become wedged or trapped, causing suffocation or strangulation.
The CPSC and the company are aware of at least five incidents in which the drop sides malfunctioned and posed the above risks.
There was one report of a child becoming trapped and suffering minor scratches.
