Chevrolet boosts incentives: Time to shop?

Car buyers sort through March incentives

Coming off a year of big sales, the auto industry is hoping to keep the good times rolling.

However, 2014 has been off to a rough start as the horrible winter weather has put a damper on car shopping. Now, General Motors is hoping to make March a good time to do a little car shopping.

Chevrolet will runs a national promotion in March offering supplier prices on all Silverado pickup models. That pricing formula looks like this: dealer invoice plus destination charge plus $150 program fee. Auto analysts say it's one of the best discounts Chevy has offered on the Silverado, and the deal applies to almost every vehicle in its lineup.

Of course, savvy car buyers will still want to shop around. Chrysler is offering its own incentives in March. A spokesman tells Ruth to the Rescue the deals are broken down by brand for Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Ram and Fiat. (See links below)

Ford tells Ruth to the Rescue that current sales are moving at a decent pace, so it's not offering any major national promotions. However, Metro-Detroiters might spot some local dealers incentives.

So, if you're in the market for a new car, March might be a good time to do some comparison shopping and see what deals you can score.
