Ruth to the Rescue: Time share scam

Ruth to the Rescue has warning for time share owners

DETROITRuth to the Rescue has uncovered a scam involving a company claiming to help you sell your time share vacation property.

Victims say they've lost thousands of dollars to people claiming to be operating out of downtown Detroit.

The address given over the phone for Net Management is 535 Griswold, but this address belongs to the Buhl Building.

In fact, the Better Business Bureau says no such company exists in Detroit or Michigan.

The company targets those who want to sell a time share and complaints against the company have been coming in to the BBB from all over the country.

The scam starts when the seller thinks they have a buyer line up.

Then the title company, Harris Title, says they need the seller to wire money to Mexico, and you guessed it, the money is long gone.

An Ohio man says he was scammed out of $1,200 by the high pressure phone scammers.

To avoid being the victim of a scam, be wary of any company that asks you for money up front.
