A recent survey revealed coffee could help determine a sense of productivity at work.

The survey, commissioned by Dunkin Donuts and CareerBuilder, found food preparation and service workers are among those who need coffee the most.

Among the results, 43 percent of those who drink coffee said they feel less productive without a cup a coffee. The findings are based on a survey of more than 4,100 workers across the U.S.

Those who need coffee to get through the workday the most are:

1. Food Preparation/Service Workers

2. Scientists

3. Sales Representatives

4. Marketing/Public Relations Professionals

5. Nurses (Nurse, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)

6. Editors/Writers/Media Workers

Other findings include how much coffee people drink a day:
Sixty-three percent drink two cups or more, 28 percent drink three cups or more.

The survey suggests younger workers believe coffee keeps them productive; about 62% of workers between the ages of 18 to 24 said they are less productive without coffee. For workers aged 25 to 34, 58 percent also think coffee makes them more productive.

For women, 47% claim they are less productive without coffee compared to 40% of men.
