A business website has come up with a list of American companies it says should share the wealth with some of its lowest paid workers.
24/7 Wall Street says several companies are very successful, based on the contributions of employees who make relatively low wages, sometimes not much more than minimum wage.
The site acknowledges public companies are under no obligation to share the wealth when things are going great.
However, it argues when earning improvements are so extraordinary that top executives and shareholders are receiving great returns, maybe the lowest-paid employees deserve higher pay.
Here's the list of companies that should share the wealth, according to 24/7 Wall Street:
- Walt Disney
- Yum! Brands
- Public Storage
- Time Warner Cable
