New research has uncovered a link between weight loss and blood pressure.
Studies of animals found blood-pressure-regulating enzymes and hormones are produced in fatty tissue.
The study proved that even a small amount of weight loss can decrease the activity in the enzymes and help lower high blood pressure.
High blood pressure can often lead to heart disease and stroke.
