The Michigan Humane Society is looking for suspects who may be responsible for killing a dog found shot to death in Northville.
Humane Society officials said that the carcass of the shepard mix ? a female about 1 year old -- was discovered Monday. It is the second serious animal cruelty investigation launched in the western Wayne County community this month.
Authorities said that a dog was found dead in a dumpster in Garden City on Oct. 5, apparently having been mutilated and possibly tortured. The dog had been skinned, castrated, decapitated and had the tendons in each of its legs cut.
The Humane Society had not identified the dogs' owners Tuesday night.
The agency is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
